We are in town from Denver visiting family, and with the rainy weather we had last night, we wanted somewhere close to go and get away from said family for awhile. We started out at Legends down the street, and that was terrible, so we decided to move over to Saints. It was a great decision. Molly and Shannon, the waitresses/bartenders, were so welcoming and nice that we had an absolutely wonderful time. They made us feel like we were regulars, and were by far the best bartenders we have had so far on our trip. Plus, they had Dale's Pale Ale on tap, which my husband loves and drinks all the time at home. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town!

Awful food. I wish I could get my money back... the couple I was with had equally awful meals. Tasted like plastic, luke-warm microwaved garbage. If thats what I want to eat, I'll go to Wal-Mart and get a nasty TV dinner. And honestly I don't complain much... and I still held my tongue to our waiter... but MAN! Service was O.K... but the food truly was terrible and so ruined the experience.

Great patio! Food is ok. Service is hit or miss depending on how crowded it is. If you're looking for an afternoon patio after biking on the nearby bike trail and wanting a cold beverage, this is a good spot. If you're looking for a stellar bar and grill for food, I'd look elsewhere.

I don't get why this place is still around. The burger I had was only ok and the service was terrible. There is really no reason to go hear because they don't offer anything different then Applebee's.

Consistently poor service here. We seem to only seem to go here when biking in West Des Moines but all in our group agree service staff seems like they have not had a lick of training. Food is decent but seems to take a while.

We visited in Waukee. The service was great. The food was absolutely bland. Everything we got was bland. We both got the pretzel bacon burger. It had absolutely zero seasoning/flavor. Nothing. I got the crinkle fries. Can't really mess those up. My dining companion got the seasoned waffle fries. Those were pretty tasteless, too. We got the buffalo and honey buffalo wings. Those just tasted weird to both of us. So, the service was great, but the food was not. So, we will not return.

Wish I could give 0 stars. From the moment we walked in we had nothing but a bad experience. On our first and final visit we entered the front door. Do we seat ourselves or wait? So we stand there and wait, not one employee makes eye contact with us. So we seat ourselves inside and then decide to head outside to the patio. We sit down at a high top and sat for 20 minutes. Not one server came our way, not one server made eye contact with us! I guess if we would have had a larger group instead the 2 of us we would have been more important. There was another table of 2 that had already sat down before us that had gotten menus and a drink, but no service the entire 20 minutes we waited just to be noticed. Another couple came in after us and was greeted, handed menus and drinks within minutes. Whoa wait a minute? Different server station? I don't know. So after 20 long minutes, we got up went back inside and asked for the manager and guess what? The employees can't find the manager! Bad experience, we won't be going back.

Funny how the review I wrote just a month ago has disappeared ! So I'll write another one for someone to remove, except this time I'll get right to the point. I went here for pizza. It was one of the worst I've ever had. I've had Pizza all over this country and most people agree with my opinion on Pizza. Bottom line..... I'll never give this place another dime. Lousy Pizza.

We've been back twice since my last review and both time the food was really not that good. I got the sliders appetizer once and out of the 3, I consumed 0 full sliders. The bread was soooo bad. The crab cake was, er, questionably safe to consume, the French Dip was Au jus-less, and also flavorless and the pork tenderloin was dry. Like it had been in the freezer too long or something. The other time was for wings. They looked deceivingly delicious. The sauce didn't have much flavor (Honey Buffalo) and the meat itself, again, was dry and chewy. The service is very good. They definitely have that going, and I know we will be stopping here during our bike rides...can't pass up that awesome patio!

Donald Y. pretty much said everything that I wanted to say about Saints, but I'm going to say it again anyway: Although the food, drinks, service, and prices are all along the lines of average, the patio is what makes this place. There's tons of outdoor seating, some shaded, along with an open-air bar with TV's. Love love love. And although contrary to my previous statement of "average", after moving back to DSM from DC, I was thrilled about the $3 tall boy special on Friday nights. You can't get more than a dirty look for $3 on the East Coast. So we'll say the prices are "DSM average".

Although the food was delicious, the service was perhaps one of the worst service I have encountered. They had one server covering 9 tables this afternoon. She was overwhelmed and no one bothered to help her. We saw other waitresses coming in and out from the patio area and walk right past the tables without even glancing at the people to see if they could help. Our waitress was rude and stressed. The kitchen staff ended up bringing out our food so we had warm food at least but our appetizer (queso) didn't come out until after our entrees. When we declined it, the kitchen staff was nice about it, but our waitress still tried to charge us for it. Timing is important. I had to wait 15 minutes for a refill on water and we have been waiting 20 minutes just to cash out. I'm sure it would have been a better experience if staffing was appropriate and helpful.

Great food, and very good prices. Come here for breakfast and you won't be disappointed. The Bloody Mary is on point! Only down side is it can be busy and service is hit or miss. Coffee was a little burnt, but could be an isolated incident.

Pretty nice place but just got bad service here. Waiter took forever to take orders and finally give us our checks right before softball game. The patio is a big plus though. It's heated from above so winter time would be nice here. Live music playing on the patio which makes it nice:)

Saints is an upscale sports bar with a great atmosphere. We had hoped to enjoy the patio but the place was packed for a Wednesday night. The service was quick and delightfully friendly. What I liked most was that the menu offered some different choices compared to the typical sports bar fare. Saints offers some 20+ beers on tap. Half of them are the standard drivel "Bud, Bud Light, Miller, Miller Lite, blah blah blah." But the other half are respectable such as Goose Island, Fat Tire, Bass, Guiness, and Sam Adams to name a few. They also offer an impressive wine list for a pub. I honed in on the fish tacos. For my side I selected Cajun Onion Rings. The tacos were very good, however the fish was battered and I prefer mine grilled or breaded. Two tacos were served with a corn relish which was tasty but not the flavor I was looking for. The cajun onion rings were good as far as onion rings go, but needed more Cajun to back up its name. I will definitely go back. There were several items on the menu that deserve a try.

This review is based strictly on the bar and the drinks since as of yet we have never ordered food here. The outside patio/bar is amazing, and I can't wait until the spring/summer months arrive when it reopens again. They have a covered patio/bar area outside which also sports three big screen TVs. It's really refreshing having a place like this where you can not only go to sit outside to drink, but can still keep an eye on the game. I personally recommend the pitchers of margaritas. They are decently priced and on a warm summers evening, they go down real fast!

Heard so much about this place so when I visited from Hawaii, stopped for lunch and was terribly disappointed. The waitress was great but had to keep apologizing for a new cook who was slower than molasses. I ordered soft pretzels with my drink and I could have microwaved the pretzels or even made them from scratch and gotten them to you faster than the one hour it took to get to the table.....if you don't want to lose customers, you have to be faster...even worse it was Father's Day and everyone was kept waiting.....

More than enough big screen flat panels to watch any game. Nice staff, good food. Rear atmosphere to watch a game.

Great atmosphere, super location, a menu that is more creative than the average sports bar, albeit excuted without passion, is all ruined by an indifferent wait staff that reminds me of the now long deceased Mondos bartending crew.

We stopped in at Saints this afternoon because we were looking to sit on a nice patio. I've been to the saints in Beaverdale many times and love it but we were out in WDM. The patio really is awesome and I thought the food was good, although my boyfriend wasn't impressed (he had a burger, I had nachos). We both agreed the pretzels were good, and we would order them again... The service spoiled the experience for us though. Start to finish everything was slow. It took 20 minutes for one drink and 40 minutes for our appetizer (which we never received silverware or napkins for). Our server never checked on us to see of our food was okay, or to refill our drinks. Granted she did seem busy but not busy enough to completely ignore a table. Maybe they need to add another server on the patio so diners aren't left wondering if the server forgot about them. Better service would equal 5 stars from me.

I had a very average experience. We stopped in for a quick lunch and it lasted about 70 min. Our waitress was pleasant and helpful, but she was the only one working so she wasn't able to check in with us very often. There seemed to be a lot of delays in the process, but I think they were just understaffed. The food was average sports bar food and I wouldn't probably try it again, except for the fries which were amazing. I will probably try one more time when I can enjoy the patio during happy hour.
